No. 1  Bowie State dominated previously ranked No.2 Virginia Union 52-17 at home in an important CIAA North division contest.  Ja’rome Johnson threw 5 touchdown passes and 395 yards passing to lead the Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0) offense that gained 595 yards. Bowie State was ranked 3rd in the NCAA Division-II Super Region Two rankings released on October 28.  Next up: the final home game of the season against winless Lincoln (PA).

No. 2  Fort Valley State rallied from a 27-20 deficit in the 4th quarter by scoring to defeat Clark Atlanta 34-27 for their 6th consecutive win.  The Wildcats (6-2, 4-0) are in the midst of their longest winning streak in over 12 years. This is the first visit into the Top 5 the Wildcatss Next up: Ft. Valley travels to Savannah State for a showdown with the Tigers who are also unbeaten in the the SIAC East.

No. 3  West Virginia State defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 39-36 with just 00:10 to play on a 20-yard Austin Hensley touchdown pass to Isiah Scott. The Yellow Jackets improved to 6-2, 6-1 and were recently ranked 5th in NCAA Division-II Super Region One which was released on October 28.  Next up: hosting conference foe University of Charleston.

No. 4  Miles previously ranked No.3 lost 15-13 on the road in muddy field conditions to Central State (OH) on a 34-yard field goal with just a few seconds to play.  The Golden Bears had a 4-game winning streak snapped, but remain in first-play in the SIAC West, 6-2, 3-1.  Next up: Miles returns home to play Kentucky State.

No. 5  Langston rebounded from their first conference loss since 2016 with a 69-7 win over Texas Wesleyan for Homecoming.  Jordan Cooper rushed for 158 yards in 12 attempts and 3 TDs, while passing 20/30, 206 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. Next up: Langston travels to Southwestern Assemblies of God Univ. in Waxahachie, Texas.
