Tuskegee’s leading rusher from the 2019 season is committed to remain at Tuskegee University after entering his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal in early December.

Sophomore Taurean Taylor (5-7, 180, Scottdale, GA) made an official statement to the Black College Sports Network (BCSN) regarding his future earlier in the day:

I’m Back and My Team and I are looking forward to bringing some rings back to the shed! We Are All 1 Family Every Sport, Club, Group, Student Such Rich Culture And Great Tradition. Football wise I trust that My Brothers and I are going to put it all out on the field week in and week out in pursuit of our DII National Championship Goal. We are in the process of adding a few pieces to the puzzle and have also made some coaching changes alongside position swaps. We Are All Locked In Here At Tuskegee University and we are ready to take off.

Taylor played in 10 games last season, had 99 attempts, gained 597 net yards, averaged 6.0 yards per carry and scored 6 TDs.  He also caught 4 passes for 44 yards.  The highlight of last season was Taylor’s 160-yard rushing performance on 8 carries with 1 TD against Kentucky State in a 13-7 Golden Tigers win in week 2 of the season.  In the opening game of the season against Alabama State, Taylor had 16 carries, 78 yards and 2 TDs. During Tuskegee’s 4-game winning streak in the second half of the season Taylor scored a touchdown in three of those games.
